Through the GitHub mobile app isn’t the greatest.

VSCode.dev is better, but everything is so tiny on the iPhone. And I have fat fingers.

  • She always calls herself Joan la Pucelle (Joan the Maid)

  • Jean d’Aulon, one of her captains, wrote a letter describing her appearance and demeanor

  • Dauphin is Charles VII before his coronation

  • Joan’s banner: white with fleur-de-lis and the words “Jesus Maria”

  • Joan’s armor was said to be made of bright, shining metal, often described as silver or white. It was made by the best armorers of the time.

  • Jean II, Duke of Alençon, was one of Joan’s key military leaders and supporters

  • After his coronation, Charles VII granted Joan’s home village exemption from taxes in perpetuity. He also granted her and her family a pension.

  • Where can one read the trial proceedings?

    • The trial transcripts are available in various historical archives and have been published in several books about Joan of Arc. One notable edition is “The Trial of Joan of Arc” translated by Daniel Hobbins.
